Calamès
is without doubt one of the major sites in the Ariège
- boasting over 200 routes and something for everyone. Short
walk-ins and south facing crags make this a favourite winter
venue, but it's likely to be too hot here in full summer.

A
small crag below Calamès, offering some shade and also
peace if Calamès is busy.

This
impressive massif has many facets and an enormous amount of
rock, though bird nesting restrictions and long walk-ins have
slowed development.

Good
quality rock, sunny aspect and plenty of routes in the lower
grades make it attractive. The somewhat long walk-in makes it
less so. Some excellent multi-pitch outings, including the classic
Penelope.
