The quantity and variety of climbing in the Ariège is simply superb:

• over 2000 sport routes on limestone, granite and gneiss
• top quality bouldering spots
• multi-pitch routes, fully bolted and trad

Some highlights include the bolted granite outcrops of Auzat (like bolted gritstone!), idyllic bouldering at Laramade and Orlu, the sheer variety of routes at Calames, 26 (!) pitch routes on the Dent d'Orlu, seclusion and steepness at Genat - I could go on, but if you don't know the area, climb09.com's Rock Climbing Tour of the Ariege is the place to start.
